JAPANESE PRIME MINISTER AND MINISTER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS EXPRESSED THEIR CONDOLENCES AND ASSURED JAPAN’S SUPPORT FOR FLOOD VICTIMS IN PAKISTAN

The Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Shinzo Abe and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Mr. Fumio Kishida, have expressed their sadness and concern about the devastation caused by the floods in Pakistan and pledged Japan’s support for the victims of the disaster.


“I am deeply saddened to learn that the massive flooding caused by the heavy rain has left extensive damages in wide areas of Pakistan including the Indus River valley area. On behalf of the Government of Japan, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the victims and their bereaved families” said Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in a letter sent today to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Prime Minister Abe said that Japan is ready to extend necessary assistance for those who are affected by the floods.


Mr. Fumio Kishida, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, in his letter to Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to the Prime Minister on national Security & Foreign Affairs, expressed his condolences and sympathies to the victims and their bereaved families. (END)
